| Review | Private Label Extensions 3D Mink Lashes
I don't often wear false lashes and the reason it because they tend to be uncomfortable. My choice in lashes has to be made of natural hairs or fibers because not only do they look incredibly beautiful, natural, and fluttery but they tend to feel very comfortable on. I had heard so much about mink eyelashes and I have wanted to try them for so long now, I am very excited to create this sponsored review with Private Label Extensions to show case their beautiful line of mink lashes.
The Private Label Extensions 3D Mink Lashes retail from $9.75 for 1 lash to $218.75 for a 25 set of lashes, with other options in between and are all available at Private Label Extensions. The mink lashes come in a huge variety of styles, 10 styles in their thinline range and 10 styles in their classic range! If you are a newbie to lashes, I recommend the thinline range because the bands are thinner, making them significantly easier to apply and wear. These lashes are all 100% mink and 100% handcrafted! You really notice the quality in the beautiful shape and intricate styles of the lashes.
I chose the pair in Lola, which is from their classic 3D Mink Lash range. I chose this style because I really love a lash style that tapers from short to long on the outer corners. It gives you that lift to your eyes and eye shape that looks very flirty and sexy. It also really opens up the eyes and doesn't look as heavy on my small eyes. I also love how dramatic but natural these are because they are very full with many layers of lashes but the mink hair makes it very soft and wispy.
So why mink lashes over human hair or synthetic fibers?
First of all, they are extremely comfortable, even the dramatic and very full ones, like the Lola style! Synthetic fiber ones are so incredibly uncomfortable! I have yet to find a pair I could wear for longer than 5 seconds! The brands are much harder and they tend to end up lifting and poking your eyes! Human hair lashes are much better and equally comfortable, however they don't last as long.
That brings me to my second point, they last significantly longer and can be used up to 20-25 times! Mink lashes are much more durable than human hair lashes, particularly these bands are resilient to heavy use and can be easily cleaned, stored and reused. Mink lashes are created from a much higher quality material because the hairs are so expensive and luxurious, you'd want to be able to use your lashes more than 3-4 times. I have taken care of my human hair lashes really well, but even after 2 uses, the band begins to warp and the lashes begin to get mangled. Synthetic fiber lashes can be used for a bit longer because their bands are plastic but again, they are incredibly uncomfortable and they don't blend in well with your natural lashes.
That leads me to my third point, mink lashes look incredibly natural! Even the most dramatic ones are created from ultra-fine and lightweight real mink hair, so they are soft and wispy! They have a natural fluttery look and curl that mimics natural eyelashes. While human hair will obviously blend into your natural lashes, it lacks the fluffiness and fluttery effect of the mink fur, which is so much softer and finer. Obviously synthetic lashes would not blend seamlessly into your natural lashes because they are made with hard and often shiny plastic, which thought they can get quite fine, do not look even close to real lashes. They don't mold with natural lashes even with heavy amounts of mascara to bind them.
How to care for your mink eyelashes:
If you really want your lashes to last and look good time and time again, you need to be sure to care for them properly.
Be gentle. When you remove it from the casing, gently take your fingers close to the band and pull the lashes in short movements away from the plastic. Do a little at a time, DON'T pull the lash from one end to the other. You don't want to warp the lash band! When removing your lashes from your eyes, try to do the same, take the corner and slowly lift but as you do so, move your fingers along so you're not taking one end and just ripping it off. It's not a bandage its a delicate eyelash! Also, it is recommended that you take a cotton swab dipped with oil-free makeup remover to dissolve the glue only at the lash band. DO NOT soak your whole eye in makeup remover or use a wipe!
Apply mascara first. If you can't go without mascara, apply it to your natural lashes first. Let them dry then apply your mink lashes. Then to fuse the two, just pinch them together with your fingers or gently curl your lashes.
Try not to peel the excess glue. When you're cleaning your lashes, try not to peel and pick at the glue. You are more likely to ruin and warp the lash band. Just take a cotton swab dipped very lightly in an oil-free makeup remover and gently clean the excess glue. It is important to use an oil-free one because you don't want that excess oil on there for next time. If you have larger chunks, you can pick them off gently with some tweezers but make sure the glue is already loosened by remover.
Store safely. Store your lashes in a dedicated lash case or the original packaging to prevent it from getting squished or mangled. I am a guilty culprit of just ripping my lashes off at the end of the night and ditching them on my bathroom counter or vanity, DON'T do it! These lashes will stay so fluffy and beautiful if you store them well at the end of each use.
How do they look and feel?
They are exactly as fluffy and full as described! These lashes have so many soft hairs that are finely crafted. They really give you eyes a big pop and make them stand out! While the band is thick, it is very comfortable. It can be tricky to apply but the trick is letting your glue get tacky before placing it on the eyes. Then it will really stick and you can gently tuck in the corners. If you have small eyes like me, I recommend trimming them before applying. I trim off about three notches of the lashes and it was perfect. I also used the gorgeous Rose Gold Lash Applicator to apply the lashes, which really helped! It's also super affordable only $3.00 USD! For the afforable price of $9.75 per eyelash set, these are incredible quality and can be used up to 20-25 times! That is a really great value! I loved working with these lashes and the impact they gave to my look was incredible! I will definitely be looking into more styles to try!
