Nars Eye Shadow Trio in 'Ramatuelle' From The Summer 2012 Collection

"Named for a village in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France, this elegant Trio Eyeshadow combines two shimmerssilver and icy peach—with a matte apricot for a unexpected warm-cool take on a neutral palette. Each shade is universally flattering alone or layered upon one another for a unique, refined look."
[Mecca Cosmetica]
L - R: soft, matte apricot; soft, pale, shimmery icy peach; and a soft, pale, shimmery icy grey / silver.
Photo capturing the very subtle, micro shimmers of the two pale shades on the left (i.e., the silver and icy peach).
Another shot that captures more of the micro shimmers (please excuse the shadow on the left-most matte apricot eye shadow! /:-\)

Pigmentation and Texture
While the colours are soft, the colour pay-off is excellent and applies as per the way they appear in the pan.  The texture is also excellent as it is extremely finely milled, soft, applies on smoothly and blends effortlessly with the skin.  This, along with its soft effect makes for an easy, faultless application.  In fact, I'd probably go as far as to say this is the best powder eye shadow texture I've come across from Nars!  Oh, and you can also apply this dry or with a dampened eye shadow brush, too for added intensity if you're so inclined. ;-)

Swatches
Swatches against olive medium to light tan skin tone (~NC30).  (Photographed indoors using a strobe).  As you can see, when swatched/applied on the skin the two "shimmery" shades of icy peach and pale grey/silver aren't that shimmery at all - they've just got a lovely sheen finish - but definitely more than say a satin finish eye shadow.  These two are lovely to highlight the inner corners of the eyes with and also the just under the brow bone.  The matte apricot shade has just the slightest hint of earthiness to it without losing lightness of colour or looking 'terracotta-ish' - making it a very pretty soft shade of colour that's perfectly wearable and versatile.
Packaging
As with all Nars' compact packaging, it comes in a black compact with a slightly rubberised texture (yes, it does get dirty quite easily unfortunately if you're not extra careful!). The good news is it's fairly lightweight and comes with a handy mirror.

Final Verdict
I must admit, the colours didn't grab me at first when I saw the photos online (e.g., as much as say 'Marie-Galante' eye shadow duo did in the same collection), but it turns out that this has definitely got to be one of the must-have's from the collection in my opinion. ^_^  I was afraid that the paleness of the shades would appear ashy against darker skin tones like mine and also lack colour intensity due to their softness.  I was also worried about the wearability of the apricot shade on my skin tone.  However, I am very happy to have purchased this.  It really is a gorgeous, flattering, wearable soft colour combination with a beautiful powder texture. ^_^  I've really been enjoying wearing these and the shades are a bit different to what I have in my collection.  I will definitely be using this a lot.  Furthermore, I reckon it would suit most, if not all skin tones, too.  I'd say definitely give it a go! :D

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for stopping by! xo ^_^
